Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate assigned machine(s) to manufacture parts to required specifications.
- Use sample parts, blueprints, and schematics to determine the method and order of operations.
- Protect machines and machined product by following processes and procedures such as part loading, being in control of the machine, and safely transporting product over short distances.
- Maintain product quality through monitoring and adjusting machine offsets as needed.
- Perform and record in-process inspection actions such as measuring and validating part features regarding dimensional tolerances and specifications.
- Perform first article and buyoff.
- Perform setup operations which includes setting up fixtures and cutting tools.
- Perform inspection tasks of intermediate complexity interacting with drawings and more advanced inspection tools.
- Meet production demands as assigned.
- Run production on multiple machines at once. (Primary & Secondary)
- Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Prior experience operating Swiss-style Screw Machine equipment or other similar devices used for machining metal parts.
- A working knowledge of setting and adjusting offsets, and ability to accurately adjust and/or change cams and gears.
- The ability to identify and correctly load and secure fixtures with minimal assistance.
- A working knowledge of shop math including tool geometry, positive and negative numbers, as well as basic geometry.
- The ability to read basic prints and apply basic dimensional specifications to inspection processes.
Required Experience
- Typically, this position requires evidence of success in advanced machining duties for at no less than two years prior to hire.
Level Of Education
- A high school diploma or GED is expected.
