Machinist - Press Brake Operator

Reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and direction from the Machine Shop Supervisor and Manager. May receive day-to-day guidance in the performance of routine activities from Lead personnel.

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed verbal and written instructions and procedures to safely set up and run press brake to bend and shape sheet metal.
• Operate a variety of machine tools, including milling machines, punch presses, press brakes, and lathes, to produce small precision parts for diagnostic equipment housings.
• Maintain records related to production.
• Perform various clean-up and housekeeping duties.
• Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform various other duties and activities as directed by the Supervisor and/or Manager.
• Must meet all elements of the Helena Standards Pertaining to All Jobs, Job Classification Standards - Job Requirements Matrix, and General Job Requirements.

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of experience as a press brake operator preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools.
• Ability to lift heavy items.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
