Machinist - Manual VTL

About the role

At StandardAero, we seek candidates with at least one year of machining experience who are eligible for a $2,500 signing bonus.

Responsibilities

• Machine products to tight tolerances
• Reads and interprets specification manuals, blueprints, templates and layouts to determine machining operation to be performed
• Verifies dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers
• Computes dimensions and tolerances and measures and lays out work pieces
• Adjusts and sets up machine tools for use by machining tool operators
• Participates in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements
• Computes and verify dimensions to ensure accuracy
• Observes all applicable safety practices
• Carrries out other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 3 or more years of experience as a Machinist including operating lathes or mills
• 3 or more years of experience reading/interpreting manuals and technical drawings, utilizing hands tools, and working with precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers)
• 3 or more years of experience with manual machine tools operations
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance
• Ability to stand for 5 plus hours at a time

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications: 3 or more years of experience as a Machinist including operating lathes or mills. 3 or more years of experience reading/interpreting manuals and technical drawings, utilizing hands tools, and working with precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers). 3 or more years of experience with manual machine tools operations. Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance. Ability to stand for 5 plus hours at a time

Skills

• Preferred: CNC or Manual Machinist Certification, VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe) experience, High degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy and precision
