Machinist - Machine Repair

About the role

Quad Martinsburg is seeking a Machinist responsible for machining, repairing, replacing, prototyping, or producing parts. The role involves operating CNC/Manual mills and lathes, as well as other miscellaneous machines to perform these tasks while adhering to high-quality standards and company specifications. The Machinist actively participates in the organization’s Managing for Daily Improvement efforts.

Key responsibilities include producing prototype, replacement, or production parts to specified tolerances, using measuring equipment and blueprints, and making or repairing parts per samples, prints, or verbal instructions. The role requires applying knowledge of tooling, speeds, and feeds.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC/Manual mills and lathes to machine, repair, or produce parts.
• Produce prototype, replacement, or production parts to meet specific tolerance requirements.
• Use measuring equipment and blueprints to inspect parts.
• Make or repair parts based on samples, prints, or verbal instructions.
• Apply knowledge of tooling, speeds, and feeds in metalworking.
• Participate in Managing for Daily Improvement initiatives.
• Work overtime when necessary.
• Lift or move up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in operation and setup of Manual Lathes and Mills with 3-axis controls.
• Some knowledge of CNC operations.
• Ability to provide own measuring tools.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and inspecting parts.
• Knowledge of tooling, speeds, and feeds used in metalworking.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Overhead Cranes, CNC Programming, and Mig/Tig Welding.
• Knowledge of Lean and Kaizen Principles.
