Machinist IV (Manual Journey Level)

About the role

CPI Electron Device Business seeks to hire an energetic, agile, highly motivated, and customer-focused individual to join our team. We serve customers in the radar, defense, industrial, and scientific markets, producing thousands of products that impact daily life.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate a range of manual machinery, utilizing any accessories or tooling necessary to manufacture precision parts and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Independently determine order of operations and design tooling and workholding fixturing necessary to complete assigned tasks with minimum supervision.
• Will be responsible for first piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain records and quality documentation.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Advanced trade school or AA in technical field preferred.
• 3 years of advanced work experience or concentrated machining training with a strong understanding of machine tool processes.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, written or verbal instructions.
• Strong trouble-shooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Fluent in the setup and operation of mills, lathes, surface grinders, and other support equipment.
• ProtoTRAK experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined under ITAR and EAR.

• Technical proficiency with CNC machines.
