Machinist IV - 2nd Shift
Location: US-MN-Burnsville-West, 14300 Judicial Rd, West Building
This is an onsite role requiring U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities
- Perform production machining of routine and custom products using manual mills and lathes.
- Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals to set up and execute production processes.
- Calibrate machines by positioning, aligning, securing work, and utilizing appropriate tools.
- Use analytical skills to make machine adjustments and perform machining processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize production processes and develop unique solutions.
- Operate inspection equipment including indicators, micrometers, calipers, and surface plates.
- Inspect and certify your work product.
- Work independently to troubleshoot and resolve problems using available resources.
- Perform daily, quarterly, and annual preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Work in an environment requiring both repetitive and unique products while maintaining focus on safety and quality.
- Build manufacturing fixtures.
- Overtime available based on business needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of manual mill/lathe experience.
- U.S. citizenship required (eligibility for security clearance).
- Active and existing DoD Secret security clearance required after day one.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two-year machinist/tooling degree.
- Harding lathe experience.
- Bridgeport mill with Acurite control experience.
- Production manufacturing experience.
- Tool making experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, resolve, and mitigate issues.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and technical documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Pay
The hourly range for this role is $24.48 - $45.91. The range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
