About the Role

Finish grind threads on all rotors to size, index, form, and finish as required. Drill axial hole, cutoff, and counterbore as needed. Grind end faces on idlers. With own judgement and minimal direction, produce a quality ground rotor in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Grind threads on all rotors and inspect sizes, index, form, lead, and finish
  • Deburr all sharp edges as needed
  • Check pump parts for burrs and fits
  • Assemble per assembly drawing
  • Test per specifications
  • Operate one or more machines including NCTG, CFG, Cutoff, test stands, DHD, etc.
  • Use precision measuring equipment (e.g., micrometer, dial caliper, profilometers, lead checker, gash gauges, master)
  • Operate electric or air-powered crane/forklift

Essential Physical Tasks

  • Lift, pull, or push up to 40 pounds
  • Continuously walk or move between machines (up to five)
  • Load and unload parts manually
  • Deburr using files or hand tools like die grinders
  • Clean parts and centers of chips and wipe dry
  • Lift and check dimensions to conform with finish drawings
  • Make machine adjustments to produce quality parts within specifications
  • Use multi-function electric or air-crane to lift/move/load/unload parts
  • Step up/down from elevated work platforms for wheel changes, tool changes, and cleaning

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Machining Trade School preferred)
  • One to three years of machining experience preferred
  • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions
  • Ability to fill out forms (e.g., daily labor report, log sheet)
  • Ability to read blueprints and use advanced trade mathematics
  • Proficiency in reading complicated drawings, specifications, and charts
