Machinist II Small Youji: 2nd shift

This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office in Auburn, AL.

About the role

The Couplings Division of the Industrial Powertrain Solutions Segment is seeking a Machinist II. This is a full-time role typically working 40 hours per week, with prescheduled overtime. The ideal candidate will assist with the set-up, programming, operation, and adjustment of conventional or automatic machines such as Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) machines. You will work from drawings and written instructions to create replacement and new parts, make repairs to metal parts, and work on experimental apparatus or prototype equipment. Overtime may be required as needed to meet production demands, including working Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and modify programs for CNC Machines.
• Operate CNC machines according to exact tolerances specified on engineering prints.
• Set up and operate manual lathes, saws, cutting tools, and slotting tools to meet exact tolerances on engineering prints.
• Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance, including housekeeping duties as needed.
• Troubleshoot and correct operational and quality issues.
• Ensure the machine is following operational and safety guidelines.
• Meet all production standards.
• Run entire cell/area or multiple machines at a time.
• Work in a constant state of alertness with safety always a priority.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and prints.
• Ability to work in AutoCAD, including work with computers, hand tools, and measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Ability to set up and operate manual lathes and other machines according to precise tolerances.
• Ability to change tooling and set up machines according to required machining sequences.
• Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic maintenance skills.
• Ability to work and run your machine with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding and ability to read blueprints.
• Basic understanding of CNC G/M code.
• Basic understanding of editing offsets and completing setups.

Physical Demand and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud when in the manufacturing factory and at vendor locations. The general office environment is quieter, spent at a computer in the office.
