Responsibilities
- Machine products to tight tolerances.
- Read and interpret specification manuals, blueprints, templates and layouts to determine machining operation to be performed.
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers.
- Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces.
- Adjust and set up machine tools for use by machining tool operators.
- Participate in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.
- Work independently and as a team to achieve maximum quality.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2 or more years of experience with manual machining.
- 2 or more years of experience operating lathes or mills and using measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers).
- Ability to sit or stand at least 50% of work shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Desired Skills
- VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe) experience.
- High degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy and precision.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals and technical drawings.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
