About the role

Semi and finish grind all ODs on rotors, shafts, ring gears, and similar components. Perform toolroom grinding tasks such as arbors and bushings. With minimal direction, produce quality ground parts safely and efficiently. Inspect dimensions, finishes, radii, and other specifications. Complete all required paperwork, monitor coolant, and maintain a clean workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Operate one or more machines, including NCCG, CYC, and lapper.
  • Use precision measuring tools (micrometer, dial caliper, profilometer) to inspect rotors, shafts, ring gears, and other parts.
  • Operate electric or air-powered crane/forklift.
  • Load and unload parts, deburr using files or die grinders, and clean parts/chips.
  • Check dimensions and adjust machines to produce parts within specifications.
  • Lift, move, and position parts using multi-function cranes or manual effort.
  • Step up/down from work platforms for wheel changes and machine maintenance.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean, efficient work area.
  • Troubleshoot and correct machine issues or report faults.
  • Complete required paperwork (daily labor reports, log sheets).
  • Consistently produce high-quality work in required quantities.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift, pull, push, and physically handle parts and tools.
  • Continuous movement between machines (up to three).
  • Read and follow detailed instructions, including complex drawings and specifications.
  • Use mathematics and complete forms (e.g., labor reports, log sheets).

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; 1–3 years of machining experience preferred.
  • Technical Degree in Machining is a plus.
