Machinist (Hawaii Drilling & Pump Service)

Position Summary

The Machinist supports repair and fabrication of components for vertical turbine pumps using lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders. Responsibilities include producing precision components, reading blueprints, maintaining shop cleanliness, and ensuring a safe, organized work environment.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of Machining or mechanical experience
• Ability to read technical diagrams and perform basic troubleshooting
• Proficiency with power tools and field equipment

Essential Functions

• Machinist B (Beginner Machinist)
• Generate and maintain daily work reports and payroll timecards
• Operate and perform preventive maintenance on support equipment
• Adhere to all safety protocols, use personal protective equipment (PPE), perform regular maintenance checks, and report hazards promptly
• Supervise and train assigned helpers

Senior Machinist (Expert-Level Machinist)

• Oversee and execute complex Machinings and system upgrades
• Diagnose and repair advanced pump
• Provide technical expertise and project recommendations
• Assist in developing work procedures and training materials
• Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and quality control checks
• Work with engineers, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance

Education, Experience, And Technical Knowledge

• Candidates must have the legal right to work in the US without employer sponsorship
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work in physically demanding environments
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various conditions (outdoors, confined spaces, heights, etc.)
• Willingness to learn, follow safety guidelines, and work as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license required
• Basic Computer Skills
