MACHINIST GRINDER

The selected candidate will operate a wide variety of machines, tools and equipment including turning machines, surface machines, and grinding machines with horizontal or vertical spindle and reciprocating or rotating table to grind flat or contoured surfaces of metal workpieces, such as tool, die, and machine parts. Should-be capable of reading blueprints, using precision instruments, and understanding written instructions. Collaborate with quality control to troubleshoot and resolve dimensional or surface finish issues. Measure and verify work using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments. Set up and operate precision surface grinding machines to achieve exacting tolerances. Perform surface preparation on metal workpieces, ensuring smooth finishes and accurate dimensions.

Must Have

• Able to work at extreme heights or small confined spaces
• Able to work at assigned shift as production needs
• Able to lift 40 lbs and must take and pass a respirator fit test
• Able to work indoors/outdoors year round in all weather conditions
• Able to pass Physical Agility Test
• Able to read blueprints
• Able to operate precision instruments
• Able to understand written instructions
• Able to work collaboratively with quality control
• Able to measure and verify work using precision instruments
• Able to set up and operate precision surface grinding machines
• Able to perform surface preparation on metal workpieces
• Able to ensure smooth finishes and accurate dimensions
• Able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb
