Machinist - CNC - VTL 2nd shift

Responsibilities

• Complete machining functions from start to finish
• Load fixtures/parts onto machines and indicate them to the machine surface
• Set tools and generate offsets
• Record dimensions throughout the machining process
• Machine products to tight tolerances
• Read and interpret specification manuals, blueprints, templates, and layouts to determine machining operations
• Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers
• Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces
• Adjust and set up machine tools for use by machining tool operators
• Participate in cross-training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements
• Work independently and as a team to achieve maximum quality
• Compute and verify dimensions to ensure accuracy
• Observe and comply with all applicable safety practices
• Carry out other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 3 or more years of experience as a Machinist, including operating lathes or mills
• 3 or more years of experience reading/interpreting manuals and technical drawings, utilizing hands tools, and working with precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers)
• 3 or more years of experience with manual machine tools operations
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance
• Ability to stand for 5 plus hours at a time

Qualifications

• Basic qualifications include 3 or more years of experience as a Machinist, including operating lathes or mills
• Basic qualifications also include 3 or more years of experience reading/interpreting manuals and technical drawings, utilizing hands tools, and working with precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers)
• Basic qualifications also include 3 or more years of experience with manual machine tools operations
• Basic qualifications also include the ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance
• Basic qualifications also include the ability to stand for 5 plus hours at a time

Skills

• CNC or Manual Machinist Certification
• VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe) experience
• A high degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy, and precision

Pay

$2,500 signing bonus for candidates with at least one year of machining experience

Schedule

Standard work schedule is typically Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.
