Machinist - CNC Lathe

About the Role

Help us set the bar high across our entire organization so we can keep exceeding customer expectations. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the reliability of aviation repair and maintenance through training and preparation. Candidates with at least one year of machining experience are eligible for a $2,500 signing bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Machine products to tight tolerances
  • Read and interpret specification manuals, blueprints, templates, and layouts to determine machining operations to be performed
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces
  • Adjust and set up machine tools for use by machining tool operators
  • Participate in the cross-training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements
  • Work independently and as a team to achieve maximum quality
  • Compute and verify dimensions to ensure accuracy
  • Observe all applicable safety practices
  • Carry out other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Machinist
  • Previous or current knowledge and experience with manual machine tool operations
  • Experienced with operating lathes or mills and using measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers)
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals and technical drawings
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and hand tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • CNC or Manual Machinist Certification
  • VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe) experience
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy, and precision
