Machinist - CNC Lathe
About the Role
Help us set the bar high across our entire organization so we can keep exceeding customer expectations. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the reliability of aviation repair and maintenance through training and preparation. Candidates with at least one year of machining experience are eligible for a $2,500 signing bonus.
Responsibilities
- Machine products to tight tolerances
- Read and interpret specification manuals, blueprints, templates, and layouts to determine machining operations to be performed
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers
- Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces
- Adjust and set up machine tools for use by machining tool operators
- Participate in the cross-training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements
- Work independently and as a team to achieve maximum quality
- Compute and verify dimensions to ensure accuracy
- Observe all applicable safety practices
- Carry out other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience as a Machinist
- Previous or current knowledge and experience with manual machine tool operations
- Experienced with operating lathes or mills and using measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers)
- Ability to read and interpret manuals and technical drawings
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and hand tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- CNC or Manual Machinist Certification
- VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe) experience
- High degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy, and precision
