Responsible for
- Setup & Programming: Program (G-code / conversational), edit, and set up Vertical mill CNC machines.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret complex engineering drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Tooling & Fixturing: Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and design custom holding fixtures for challenging jobs.
- Quality Assurance: Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and correct dimensional discrepancies and machine malfunctions on the fly.
- Mentorship: Assist and train junior operators/machinists on best machining practices.
Qualifications
- Experience: Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Haas, Mitsubishi, Milltronics controls is preferred.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to shop safety protocols.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent; vocational or technical certification in machining is preferred.
