Machinist B - 2nd Shift

About the role

The Machinist B is responsible for the setup and operation of one or more of the following machines: manual chucker, drills, hones, hobs, OD Grinders, and other assigned machines/equipment. This role involves producing quality products that meet all applicable requirements, with oversight as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections of work and make required adjustments per general manufacturing practices and company policies/procedures, with assistance as needed.
• Set up and operate assigned machines with oversight.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Inspect parts per provided instructions to ensure quality products.
• Make necessary adjustments to equipment/tooling to attain required dimensions and finishes.
• Proactively interact with coworkers to obtain assistance and solve problems.
• Maintain correct time reporting and accurate entries on manufacturing and inspection records.
• Follow TPM requirements and maintain good housekeeping practices.
• Comply with company quality and safety requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1-2 years of related experience or certified training.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow detailed instructions to perform day-to-day responsibilities.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Understanding of basic mathematics and geometry.
• Ability to read blueprints with some knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Familiarity with general machining and inspection equipment.
