Machinist B-2 - 2nd shift

About the role

This position is responsible for setting up and operating the full range of machine tools in the machine shop, including numerically controlled machine tools, lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, hobs, hones, kummers, burnishers, or balancers.

Responsibilities

• Reads, interprets, and understands blueprints and operation sheets.
• Performs functions to set up and operate standard types of machines to complete single or progressive operations on standard parts.
• Operates machines such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, hobs, hones, kummers, burnishers, or balancers.
• May assist less experienced machinists.
• Uses a wide variety of precision measuring instruments.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Completion of 2-year Technical School training preferred.
• 3 years of hands-on shop or manufacturing experience required; 4-6 years of machining experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of shop math, blueprint reading, and operation sheets.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Skills

• Blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Operation of machine tools (lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, etc.).
• Use of precision measuring instruments.
• Shop math proficiency.
