Primary Responsibilities

  • Complies with all Company & Regulatory HS&E & Quality and IT standards and policies.
  • Wears all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required & maintains required HS&E & SQ certifications up to date.
  • Complies with the requirements of various specifications such as API, Blueprints, Calibration, DRILCO Machine Shop Standard and is both knowledgeable and competent in their use and application.
  • Maintains work areas and all associated equipment in an orderly, calibrated, and certified condition, ready for audit and the next use.
  • Conducts and documents daily preventative maintenance tasks on lathes, load stations, etc.
  • Performs Risk Analysis (e.g., HARC, JSA) before each job or task and identifies & addresses potential safety hazards. Corrects and report hazards immediately to direct supervisor.
  • Executes successful jobs as per the request of the client. Recognizes all risks associated with the machining process and reduces these risks to as low as reasonably possible.
  • Sets up and calibrates equipment, successfully performs the required dimensional inspections, evaluates, and interprets results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Effectively communicate inspection results to customers and supervisors, while following written procedures of the inspection process. Deliver quality results through accurate adherence to Company policy and procedures as well as Industry specific standards as requested by the client.
  • Completes all the required pre and post job documentation and job tickets on time and without errors as per company policy.
  • Safeguards production/throughput information is entered in the TMS per work order daily.
  • Safeguards that all completed job documentation is submitted into the TMS and/or direct supervisor upon completion for expedited customer billing/invoicing.
  • Safely and efficiently utilizes all tools and equipment to support the timely completion of assigned work orders and/or assigned duties, and to optimize throughput.
  • Leads and supports continuous improvement projects.
  • Develops technical knowledge through on-the-job training and certification classes.
  • Works with Manager to prepare for future career opportunities.
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced machinist, machinist trainees, and rack hand personnel. Handles special projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience with Manual and CNC Lathes preferred.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in related field (will vary depending on level I, II, III).
  • Must be willing to work long hours and be on call 24 hours/day.
  • Knowledge of hand power tools, (i.e., grinders).
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Excellent work ethic, demonstrated by a positive attitude and completing your work on time.
  • Basic computer skills, MS Word, Outlook, Excel & Power Point.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written and nonverbal communication.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
