Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc., established in 1994, is headquartered in Bridgeville, PA, with plants in North Jackson, OH, Dunkirk, NY, and Titusville, PA. Universal Stainless produces semi-finished and finished specialty steel long products and plate including stainless steel, tool steel, bearing steel, gear steel, and aircraft quality low alloy steels for use in a variety of industries. The Machinist is responsible for repairing, assembling, and maintaining various types of mill machinery and equipment. This position supports the safe and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment through machining, repair, fabrication, and preventative maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

THIS IS A SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION. PROPER USE OF ALL REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) IS MANDATORY. Employees must follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements for their assigned work area. Employees must be willing and able to comply with all required PPE, safety procedures, and work practices.

Work Environment: Work is performed in a manufacturing environment around industrial machinery, machine tools, steel products, and materials. Employees may work in different manufacturing and maintenance areas based on operational needs. Employees may work around moving machinery, heavy materials, elevated temperatures, noise, and other industrial processes. Ability to work safely around machine tools and industrial equipment is required. Employees may be required to work at heights or in difficult-to-access areas as necessary. Employees must be able to work extended shifts and varying schedules as assigned.

• Repair and assemble various types of mill machinery and equipment.
• Operate commonly used machine tools to manufacture, repair, and modify machine components.
• Operate forklifts and/or overhead cranes to safely move supplies, materials, and equipment as trained and authorized.
