Machinist

About the role

TAT Technologies (Greensboro Facility) is seeking Machinists who possess experience with Haas, Bridgeport, and Okuma CNC Machines. The ideal candidate should also be familiar with older equipment and be capable of operating grinding machines and manual lathes.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC and manual equipment
• Familiarity with OD/ID surface grinding, manual lathe, and manual mill
• Grind chrome and nickel under supervision
• Learn to shot peen parts
• Independently clean processes and maintain equipment
• Follow equipment safety guidelines
• Understand proper handling of metals and cutting machinery
• Precise measurement using instruments like micrometers and dial indicators
• Assist in preventive maintenance of equipment
• Read and interpret OEM repair manual instructions
• Participate in lean/six sigma initiatives for continuous improvement

Requirements

• Experience with CNC and manual equipment preferred
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of machining experience or equivalent
• Ability to learn how to operate crankshaft grinders and Norton Strut grinders with CNC control
• Interpret and follow repair instructions from OEM manuals
• Read, write, understand drawings, and follow detailed instructions
• Machine parts with tolerances as low as .0002
• Basic computer skills required
• Manual programming a plus
• Aviation experience a plus
