Machinist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Machinist to support precision manufacturing operations at our Houston (Rankin Road) facility. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience operating turning and milling machines, with the ability to set up and run equipment independently while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate turning and milling machines to manufacture precision components.
• Work with Mazak Mazatrol and Hurco WinMax controls (experience preferred).
• Operate manual machines (lathe, mill, etc.) as required.
• Perform machine setup including tooling, fixturing, offsets, and program verification with minimal supervision.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings and blueprints, including Dimensional tolerances and GD&T symbols and callouts.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
• Ensure components meet quality, accuracy, and specification requirements.
• Follow all safety, quality, and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience as a Machinist in a manufacturing or job shop environment.
• Proven experience operating turning and milling machines.
• Strong knowledge of machine setup and machining processes.
• Ability to operate manual machines when required.
• Excellent understanding of blueprints, tolerances, and GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and workmanship.
