Northeast Precast is seeking an experienced Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machining equipment safely and efficiently.
- Machine parts according to required specifications and tolerances.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Inspect finished parts to verify accuracy, dimensions, and quality.
- Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain required specifications.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance concerns.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Machine Shop Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum of two to three years of machinist experience required.
- CNC machine operation experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Experience using precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- CAD experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Work is performed primarily in an active manufacturing environment.
- Regular exposure to machinery, moving mechanical parts, noise, dust, metal shavings, oils, and other materials commonly associated with machining operations.
- Work areas may be hot or cold depending on weather and operational conditions.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods during the scheduled shift.
- Regularly required to bend, reach, push, pull, grip, and use hands to operate machinery, tools, and measuring equipment.
- Must be able to lift and move materials and parts as required, with assistance or material-handling equipment when appropriate.
- Must be able to maintain the concentration and visual accuracy necessary to inspect parts and work within required tolerances.
- Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, which may include safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe footwear.
- Must follow all safety procedures and remain aware of surrounding equipment and manufacturing activities.
Pay
Hourly pay range of $25.00–$29.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Overtime may be required based on operational needs.
