Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC and manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and other machine tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions.
- Select appropriate tools, fixtures, speeds, and feeds for efficient and accurate machining.
- Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, and other measuring devices.
- Adjust machine settings to maintain tolerances and meet quality standards.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, including tool wear, material inconsistencies, and programming errors.
- Maintain accurate production records, including job travelers, inspection reports, and equipment logs.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure safe, reliable operation.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve processes.
- Comply with all safety standards, company policies, and ISO/AS quality requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience, including CNC operation and setup
- Proficiency with machining math, including geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to use precision measurement tools with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong understanding of materials
- Knowledge of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting techniques
- Knowledge and use of hand tools and general inspection tools
- Must read/write/speak English fluently
- Ability to read and follow work orders, set up data sheets, and measurement instructions
- CMM experience desired
- Computer skills (MS Office) and experience in ERP systems preferred
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to aerospace industry is required
- Working knowledge of manufacturing principals and basic shop math, able to perform standard to metric numerical conversions
- Previous experience in production and quality control methods (ISO9001, AS9100 etc.) preferred
- Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation and production systems preferred
- Punctual and reliable attendance
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 40 pounds
