Machinist

About the role

At MMT, we design and build advanced automation systems, precision machine tools, and engineered manufacturing solutions. Our Ramsey, NJ facility is growing, and we’re looking for motivated Machinists who want hands-on experience, real responsibility, and long-term career growth.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support manual and CNC equipment to produce precision metal components.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Set up machines for production runs.
• Select appropriate tooling and adjust speeds and feeds.
• Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Record production data including quantities, downtime, and scrap.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Follow all shop safety procedures.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, measurements).
• Ability to read blueprints or willingness to develop the skill.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Prior machining experience is preferred but not required.
• Trade school or vocational machining program is preferred.

Pay

This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and New Jersey law. This position is Pay Grade 4. The hourly pay range for this role is $22.13 – $32.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
