Machinist

About the role

We are looking for a machinist experienced with manual mills, CNC machining centers, manual lathes, manual drill presses, pneumatic saws, and hydraulic presses.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual mills, CNC machining centers, CNC lathes, manual lathes, manual drill presses, pneumatic saws, and hydraulic presses.
• Inspect fabricated parts using calipers, hole test gauges, thread gauges, and other tools.
• Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications.
• Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
• Select appropriate machines and position or load material for jobs.
• Unload and deburr parts, then inspect them for accuracy.
• Hold tolerances on parts per print specifications.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, including maintaining oil and coolant levels, cleaning chip pans, and oiling machines.
• Follow instructions and safety regulations with a positive attitude.
• Work 40 hours per week; extended hours may be required as necessary.
• Perform other duties as trained or required.

Requirements

• Basic machine shop knowledge.
• 2+ years of manual mill or manual lathe experience, or graduation from an accredited precision machining college or trade school.
• Ability to run CNC lathes and machining centers.
• Capable of editing and writing CNC programs (training will be provided).
• Ability to machine single and multiple lead threads, both right and left hand.
• Capable of performing setups and first part runs with minimal assistance.
• Maintain quality parts and a low scrap rate.
• Welding experience is a plus but not required.
