About the role

This is the first (entry) level of Machinists. In this role, you will alternately set up and operate more than one type of machine tool—such as CNC mills, CNC lathes, manual mills, manual lathes, and grinders—in machining operations. You will complete jobs of moderate complexity, operating machinery and maintaining setups where previous tooling, operation sequences, fixtures, and attachments have been established.

Responsibilities

• Apply basic knowledge of operations including boring and milling.
• Perform checks using a variety of gauges and fixtures to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Use common hand tools in the production and finishing of machined parts.
• Maintain required levels of production.
• Ensure quality parts while minimizing scrap and rework through proper in-process inspection.
• Perform basic pre-staged machine set-ups under direct supervision.
• Recognize tooling wear problems.
• Follow proper operating procedures and maintain records in accordance with the plant management system.
• Keep work area clean and organized to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
• Follow all safety guidelines, including utilization of proper PPE.
• Demonstrate positive relations and teamwork as established in the IMI Way.
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay

$22–$25 per hour
