Machinist 3 (3/12 Weekend Shift)
Position Summary
With little or no assistance, a level three machinist will operate: 3-5 axis CNC machines, conventional mills, and lathes. Ability to produce complex aerospace parts. Demonstrates advanced cross training flexibility such as first part run and full machine recovery. Level three machinists have the ability to complete complex setups on 3-5 axis machines. They will be able to apply advanced blueprint and GD&T reading of complex production inspection processes. Level three machinists will also be able to edit programs and write simple programs to make tooling. Competencies include trouble shooting complex parts.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate 3-5 axis CNC machines, conventional mills, and lathes
- Produce complex aerospace parts
- Demonstrate advanced cross training flexibility including first part run and full machine recovery
- Complete complex setups on 3-5 axis machines
- Apply advanced blueprint and GD&T reading for complex production inspection processes
- Edit programs and write simple programs to make tooling
- Troubleshoot complex parts
