MACHINIST 1 - C Shift - Steel/Mixed Model

About the role

Machinist 1 positions are available in the Manufacturing Department at Daniel Defense. We seek individuals who can contribute to our team's success by operating machinery, maintaining quality, and adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain assigned machines and processes according to work instructions and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Perform setup and calibration tasks as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues that affect production or quality.
• Inspect parts using precision instruments and assist in monitoring process flow.
• Train new machine operators and demonstrate commitment to environmental health and safety principles.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in areas like safety, 6S, quality, delivery, and productivity.
• Participate in company values and policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 2-4 years of manufacturing experience, or a combination of education and experience.
• A two-year technical degree in CNC milling or lathe operations is preferred.
• Knowledge of GD&T, machine tool programming languages, and blueprint reading.
• Ability to interpret machine tool programming languages and anticipate machine actions.
• Interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities.
• Physical capabilities to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, sit, and bend throughout the workday.
• Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, chemicals, and machinery.
