Machining Skilled Trades - Industrial Electrician 3rd Shift

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrician – Level III to join our Manufacturing team at Cummins Inc. in Lakewood, NY. This role involves ensuring safety, compliance, environmental stewardship, quality craftsmanship, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety by stopping work and reporting any major injury hazards immediately.
• Adhere to HSE standards and promptly report work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards.
• Contribute to sustainable practices by recognizing the environmental impact of your work.
• Apply high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship to ensure reliable and efficient equipment and processes.
• Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system and support equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis.
• Proficient in troubleshooting, electrical repairs, and maintenance to ensure smooth equipment operation and compliance with codes and standards.
• Support the team by instructing and coaching others, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and TPM teams to drive enhancements in quality, safety, processes, material flow, and employee development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience to meet applicable regulations.
• Significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in a relevant trade field, or a Journeyman Trade Certificate with relevant experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to interpret schematics, manuals, and blueprints.
• Ability to provide training, mentorship, and guidance to apprentices.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime and weekends as needed to support production.
• A 2-year technical degree in a related field, plus 3 years’ experience working in the Machine Repair/Industrial Electrical field.
• Knowledge and understanding of the NEC and IEC (National Electrical Code and Industrial Electrical Code).
• Training, authorization, and certification in 70E.
• Knowledge and troubleshooting skills of PLC, HMI, Servo Drives, CNC, automation, and Robotic controls.
