Responsibilities
- The Division of Engineering, Business, and Public Services at Brightpoint Community College augments full-time teaching faculty with qualified part-time instructors to enhance the student learning process.
- Manually Instructors will teach all aspects of machining including usage of conventional lathes and mills, surface grinding, cylindrical grinding, inspection procedures, and blueprint reading. Involves classroom and laboratory instruction.
- CNC Instructors will teach all CNC machine tool setup and operation, G-code programming by hand, and off-line programming with CAM package. Involves classroom and laboratory instruction.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
- May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent, machinist journeyman certificate, and ten years of experience in the machining field.
- An understanding of common threads, tools, speeds and feeds, work-holding and shop practices.
- A competency in shop math including trigonometry and application of machine shop formulas is a must.
- Ability to use instructional technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communications skills.
- Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check is required.
Qualifications
- An associate degree in the teaching field and prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level is preferred.
- Operation of a State Vehicle is not required.
- No supervision of employees.
- No travel required.

Pay
Pay Range: $793-$1,693 per credit hour.
Schedule
Variates based on course load and availability.
