About the role

Cordant from Baker Hughes, a provider of plant-wide, holistic software, services, and Bently Nevada condition monitoring and protection hardware, offers solutions for pre-commissioning, commissioning, and maintenance shutdowns in oil & gas, chemical, power generation, and other process industries. As a Machinery Diagnostics Field Engineer, you will provide complete service solutions to address critical rotating machinery assets, protection, and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose machinery problems based on vibration data, operational data, and customer communications.
  • Travel to customer sites to provide supporting service.
  • Complete timely reports identifying findings and providing recommendations to the customer.
  • Build relationships with customers to deliver high-level service and become their trusted advisor for rotating equipment health.
  • Calculate and oversee placement of balance weights.
  • Apply Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures.
  • Perform mechanical trouble shooting.
  • Implement AT LEAST one or more of the following: mechanical vibration, rotating machinery vibration and/or diagnostics, rotodynamic analysis, PdM data acquisition/evaluation, machinery balancing and alignment.
  • Work with Bently Nevada products and CordantTM services.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of industry experience.
  • Valid driver's license and passport (or ability to obtain a passport).
  • Eligible to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential).
  • Eligible to travel overseas and/or work on offshore platforms on occasion.

Qualifications

  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of reliability services.
  • ISO certification for vibration analysis.
  • Demonstrated authority and assurance in dealing with people.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel.
  • Experience working under stressful working conditions.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Solid computer skills using MS Office software.
  • Mechanical trouble shooting skills.
  • A "hands-on" approach.
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and understanding mechanical prints.
  • Knowledge of rotating machinery operation and controls systems.
  • Knowledge of machinery protection and management systems.
  • Basic familiarity with computer network systems.
