Machinery and Equipment - Field Engineer

About the role

The Machinery and Equipment Specialties department at The Cincinnati Insurance Companies is seeking a field engineer to provide machinery and equipment boiler inspections. This position is available in the Chicagoland area, IL territory and can be filled by a trainee or experienced field engineer. Positions serving territories away from our headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio are fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Maintain territory's jurisdictional boiler and pressure vessel certificate inspections efficiently and effectively
• Manage the territory for which you are responsible
• Educate agents on how to market machinery and equipment to their clients
• Serve as a professional resource to our insurance agents as they retain business and increase the value of their marketing efforts
• Provide high level of claims service to our local independent insurance agents

Qualifications

• Field Engineer Trainees: An engineering or technically-based bachelor’s degree or other qualifying boiler and pressure vessel work experience
• The ability to work independently to accomplish initiatives
• Strong customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, organizational, and prioritization skills
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft® Office tools and related software
• A willingness to travel regularly within the territory to meet job demands
• Valid driver’s license

Pay

The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $126,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills and abilities.

Schedule

Positions serving territories away from our headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio are fully remote. Positions in the Chicagoland area, IL territory are based in the office.
