About the role
Maintain and operate support equipment related to filling operations. This includes but is not limited to the bulk can forming machine, filler, lid descrambler, vision system, banding system, check weigher, coders, inverter, bundler, variegate system, and ingredient feeder.
Responsibilities
- Properly form bulk cans to supply the bulk can filler at all times.
- Add designated lids to the lid descrambler on scround/quart lines and ensure proper operation to supply the filler at all times.
- Calculate usage rates and operate ingredient feeder and variegate following SOPs to ensure proper type and quantities of ingredients and variegates are consistently added into ice cream.
- Assist in the operation of banding machines and change rolls as needed.
- Assist in disassembly, cleaning, and assembly of ingredient feeders, variegate systems, and other related equipment.
- Verify metal detectors are operating properly and complete documentation according to SOPs.
- Operate bundler to ensure a consistent/quality wrap is applied to containers; change rolls as necessary.
- Palletize product if necessary to maintain production, e.g., during temporary breakdowns in hardening systems.
- Assist filler operator during flavor changes and when problems arise to maximize productivity and quality of the work center.
- Pack sandwich boxes into sleeves and ensure finished cases are properly coded and shrink-wrapped.
- Operate PIT to move packaging and material in and out of work centers.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including removal and disposal of trash, cardboard, rework, and scrap barrels.
- Follow all company, state, and federal requirements, ensuring compliance with all GMPs, SOPs, and regulations.
- Work effectively as part of a team and display a positive attitude.
- Other duties as assigned.
Safety Responsibilities
- Work in a safe and responsible manner at all times, following all safety policies, procedures, and rules.
- Report unsafe observations or conditions to a supervisor or manager.
- Immediately report an injury or accident to a supervisor or manager.
- Meet all company requirements for training, including but not limited to Lock Out/Tag Out Awareness, PPE, PIT, and Ergonomics.
SQF Requirements
- Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner following prescribed procedures.
- Report food safety problems to a supervisor or manager.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a group/team atmosphere.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Long periods of time (6-8 hours).
- Walking: Occasionally for short periods.
- Bending: Frequently.
- Twisting of Wrist: Frequently.
- Twisting of Spine: Frequently.
- Lifting: Light–Heavy (50 lbs occasionally).
- Carrying: Light (30-50 lbs) frequently, distance 15 yards.
- Pushing/Pulling: >150 lbs occasionally.

Pay
$24.46 - $27 USD per hour.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Saturdays as overtime as needed.
