Machine Shop Technician - DAS Aviation - 1086

Responsibilities

• Reviews job/production orders and interprets accompanying prints and drawings to determine job requirements.
• Checks for accuracy of information and identifies any discrepancies or special needs.
• Selects and/or verifies materials, processes and equipment required to perform assigned jobs.
• Sets up machines to perform required operations.
• Operates machines for fabricating various components and structures.
• Maintains quality and safety procedures at all times.
• Communicates effectively (speaking, writing, reading) in English.

Requirements

• A High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 4+ years of experience in a machine shop or part 145 repair station is highly preferred.
• Proficient in reading machine dial gauges, blueprints and precision measuring instruments.
• Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Attends work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
• Notifies supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
• Reliable transportation to get to work each day.
• Complies with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
• Follows all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
• Maintains customer-oriented work habits.
• Completes work orders, FAA paperwork.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.

Skills

• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.
• Routine repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
• Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
• Professional communication skills (speaking, writing, reading).
