Primary Job Duties
- Maintain acceptable setup standards (i.e. time and quality)
- Provide cycle time and job layout corrections
- Run production to productivity and quality standards
- Transfers and/or downloads programs to CNC machine control
- Follow layout to properly arrange and set cutting tools to be used
- Install work holding devices, part ejectors and other necessary accessories as specified
- Instructs operators or other workers in machine setup and operation
- Set up machines for other workers
- Complete daily maintenance and 5S standards
- Communicate work status
- Follow policies and procedures, Vision, Values, Principles, and Philosophies
- Maintain acceptable attendance
- Complete any specifically assigned tasks
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
- A proven track record in operation and setup of CNC machines
- Ability to adjust tools and other machine components, adjust the position of work piece or material, set controls, and verify accuracy of machine capabilities, properties of materials, and shop practices
- Ability to use tools, equipment, and work aids, such as precision gauges and measuring instruments
- Ability to make decisions using the principles of logic, as well as knowledge and skills acquired through experience and training, in a timely manner
- Ability to gather information on job processes and report back to management with process improvements
- Shop math (i.e. add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, decimals, percentages)
- Possess advanced blueprint reading skills, including GD&T
- Technical School certificate/degree preferred
Physical Requirements
- Lifting up to 50lbs, including bending, twisting, crouching, etc
- Must be able to stand for 10 hour work shift
- Must be able to work with oils/coolants
- Must be able to work in noisy environment
