About the role
Yancey Bros. Co. is the authorized Caterpillar equipment dealer for Georgia, providing comprehensive sales, parts, and service to customers. This role involves operating delivery vehicles to transport equipment and assets to various locations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate assigned delivery vehicles, including rollback and single-axle roll-back trucks, adhering to company policies and safety regulations.
- Maintain a safe driving record and follow all safety procedures related to vehicle operation, equipment loading/unloading, and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Accurately document all drop-offs and pickups through written and electronic DOT logbooks.
- Conduct thorough pre- and post-delivery inspections of all equipment, capturing clear digital photographs of equipment before and after delivery.
- Provide customers with a basic operational overview and equipment familiarization upon delivery.
- Represent Yancey Bros. Co. positively to external customers while maintaining a professional attitude and collaborating effectively with internal team members.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a delivery driver, with a valid CDL Class A or B Georgia commercial driver's license.
- At least 1-3 years of industry experience, preferably in heavy equipment transportation, general professional freight carrier, or heavy-duty trucking.
- Must be 23 years old or older.
- Valid, active CDL license, Class B preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to clear driver screenings and provide necessary information for a complete DQ file, including but not limited to: Road Test, Background Check, MVR with less than 10 points, DOT Physical, Drug Screen.
- Capable and competent of operating and loading a variety of machines onto assigned transport vehicles.
- Customer service-oriented with a willingness to exceed expectations.
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions
- Heavy lifting/carrying/lowering of equipment and materials.
- Frequent pushing/pulling, reaching, bending/twisting, walking, standing, and repetitive hand/wrist actions.
- Crouching/stooping/squatting, crawling/kneeling, and climbing/stepping.
- Subject to extreme weather conditions and exposure to loud noises, vibrations, strong odors, moving mechanical parts, electrical shocks, flammable liquids and gases, and working on elevated platforms.
- May require appropriate PPE such as hearing protection.
