Machine Program Setup Operator (Mazak) - 1st Shift

About the Role

This position is for a mechanically inclined individual who possesses a positive attitude and desire for continuous improvement. This position will install, maintain, repair, and alter machine components. This person will be a key player in ensuring first-time quality and delivery changeover components to the headers. The Tool/Pack Room will work toward ensuring on-time delivery and first-time quality of changeover components to the headers during changeovers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to machine operators on new job development
• Ability to operate Tool Room equipment with limited supervision to meet necessary quality and productivity requirements (horizontal, vertical hones, OD/ID grinders, surface grinders, centerless, and polishing)
• Ability to read most manufacturing and tooling prints, select and prepare necessary tools to meet print tolerances
• Utilize Toolroom inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, contour tracers, microscope, and comparators)
• Maintain cleanliness of work area
• Follow company safety guidelines
• Perform preventative maintenance when required
• Programming and setup of CNC machines
• Knowledge of tools to perform turning, milling, drilling, and boring
• Responsible for own inspection of tooling
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Basic computer skills using Google Workspace (sheets, docs, drive, chat, Gmail, etc.)
• Solid math skills
• Mechanically inclined, shop classes or manufacturing process training is required
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Ability to identify routine problem causation and correct routine problems
• Willingness to learn new areas of the business
