Setup Operator- 1st Shift

Location: Timken Aerospace, Keene, NH • Full time • 1st Shift

Schedule

Monday–Thursday 5:00 am–3:00 pm, Friday overtime

Pay

$27.00–$30.75 per hour

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform a wide range of precision internal/external setups
• Maintain setup proficiency in at least one operation group on assigned machines
• Work from part drawings, process sequence sheets, and setup charts
• Select proper tooling; mount, dress, and/or true grinding wheels as needed
• Cycle machine to produce test pieces, check parts, and make adjustments
• Inspect components to ensure adherence to quality specifications
• Gage components using applicable techniques and check gage calibration
• Visually sample pieces for finish and surface quality
• Instruct and assist assigned operators; maintain responsibility for their work
• Schedule work to meet due dates while maintaining operational efficiency
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedule and comply with safety procedures
• Ensure compliance and effectiveness of Statistical Process Control
• Report operating difficulties to supervisor and keep work area clean
• Maintain and comply with process documentation

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Ability to work in a team and mentor others
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use and/or set up various measuring devices or gages
