About the Role
Set up, maintain, and operate basic food processing machines that produce intermediate food products in a refrigerated food manufacturing plant. This is a non-exempt position reporting to a Line Technician or Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Operate basic machines to combine raw and processed ingredients into intermediate food products.
- Set up machines for production runs, including loading materials and adjusting settings.
- Observe machine operation to ensure quality and conformity to company guidelines.
- Inspect parts to specifications and make adjustments or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality.
- Clean and sanitize machines according to company guidelines and machine specifications.
- Ensure product date, weight, and temperatures are within established guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, HACCP requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Display a positive attitude toward people, equipment, and company policy.
- Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality are required due to working with people, items, and equipment at the facility.
Requirements
- Experience operating machinery is preferred.
- Food industry experience is preferred.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English and be understood; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Able to work with attention to detail and safety standards.
- Willingness to learn and improve.
- Team player required to work closely and collaborate with others.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Work in a refrigerated food manufacturing plant with temperatures ranging from 25°F to 110°F; environment may be wet or dry.
- Repetitively lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
- Requires walking and standing for long periods of time.
- Production demands may require overtime and/or evening or weekend scheduling.
