Responsibilities

As part of a team, the Cell Technician (Burr) is responsible for:

• Producing carbide cutting tools according to specifications of prints and within tolerances required by quality standards.
• Using appropriate inspection procedures (visual and dimensional), measuring equipment, and reading blueprints to perform in process checks.
• Making in-process adjustments to ensure tools are produced according to spec on a consistent basis.
• Tracking / logging job production data.
• Maintaining machine and work area in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.
• Monitoring supplies and notifying Cell Lead or Supervisor when supplies are running low.
• Contributing to a culture of mutual respect and teamwork.
• Meeting both personal and team goals.

Requirements

Experience & Requirements:

• A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• General math skills are necessary for this position and a math test will be administered.
• Ability to do hands-on work.
• Effective communication skills (verbal, written).
• Ability to work with a diverse environment.
• Ability to adhere to a schedule on a regular basis is required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Problem solving skills.
• Reliable transportation required.

Training

Training for this position will be on 1st Shift, Monday thru Thursday, 6:45 AM - 5:15 PM.

Working Conditions

Cell Technicians will work primarily in a production area, where there may be contact with natural oils, synthetic oils, and various grinding dusts. This area has moderate noise levels and has climate control. Proper handling of cutting tools is necessary to prevent injury. Proper instruction, training, and PPE is provided for the specific job or duty.
