Machine Operator VI - Coatings Weekends Fri-Sun 5:55am-6pm

About the role

Apart from performing as a coater operator on the facilities' coating machine and applying various types of adhesives to substrates, this role involves cleaning equipment as needed, operating computers, completing daily paperwork, maintaining production records, and performing various tasks in support of production operations. Team members will be cross-trained based on different tasks to support production operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform as coater operator on the facilities’ coating machine.
• Work on application of various types of adhesives to substrate in preparation for operations.
• Follow work order instructions to determine specifications, materials, and adjustments to ensure quality coating and minimize down time and waste.
• Clean equipment as needed.
• Operate computer, complete daily paperwork, and maintain production records.
• Perform various tasks in support of production operations.
• Apply acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
• Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Build productive internal/external working relationships.
• Utilize visual management.
• Develop professional expertise, apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
• Implement recommendations for process improvements using lean concepts.
• Perform other duties consistent with the general nature and focus of the position and/or the goals and objectives of the department.

Requirements

Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and relevant experience. Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn an ERP system are required. Ability to wear a respirator is necessary.
