Machine Operator - Peanut Chews

The Machine Operator is tasked with the operation and maintenance of machinery that wraps candy. The role is pivotal in ensuring the efficiency and productivity of the candy production line. The position requires a workable understanding of the machinery including its mechanics, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the wrapping process. The operator must ensure compliance with stringent safety and cleanliness standards. They must be vigilant, detail oriented, and capable of performing repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy. The role will involve collaboration and demonstration of strong communication skills on the production line to ensure a seamless workflow and attainment of production targets without compromising quality.

Responsibilities
- Adjusts machine components and clears machine jams
- Operates wrapping equipment at a speed relative to the number of pieces moving through the wrapper to ensure the film is not wasted and the finished product meets standard
- Maintains packaging, evaluating seals, printing alignment and overall appearance
- Ensures code date accuracy, legibility and placement
- Conducts weight checks as required
- Ensures area and transfer belts are in good condition and clean
- Records all information required to ensure product integrity and traceability
- May pack finished product on pallets or move finished goods to storage area
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality
- Ability to safely operate manual pallet jack
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle repetitive tasks
- Committed to following and upholding Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including wearing required hearing protection and personal protective equipment (PPE) and working in compliance with OSHA safety standards
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and be a collaborative team player
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift/move product up to 50lbs.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to operate a walkie and power jack
