Machine Operator (Night Shift)

Worthington Samuel Coil Processing (WSCP), a joint venture of Worthington Steel, is hiring Machine Operators to join our production team in Twinsburg, OH, with opportunities available on night shift.

About the role

In this hands-on role, you will support production by loading materials, positioning work, setting up jobs, operating and adjusting machinery, and packaging finished products. We provide on-the-job training; no prior steel experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform one of multiple roles, including operating exit, entry and set-up tasks to ensure ongoing machine operation.
• Package, weigh, and load/unload material, and stage material.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks throughout the plant to ensure safe, efficient and quality production of materials.

Requirements

• Ability to perform repetitive, physically demanding work; stand up to 12 hours; maintain full mobility and manual dexterity in a non-climate-controlled environment (heat/cold exposure); lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to retain and apply instructions.
• Demonstrated reliability with a strong attendance record.
• Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to operate banding tools and read a tape measure.
• Recognize and detect quality issues.
• Read and comprehend detailed instructions in English.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Sense of urgency; desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work a 24/7 schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Schedule

The facility operates on a 24/7 schedule. This position requires working a non-rotating 12-hour night shift (6 PM to 6 AM), following a 2-2-3 bi-weekly pattern.
