Machine Operator - Name Plates

Typical Day

• Operates nameplate machine to engrave information on gravel-ply material
• Operates a wire marker machine to create labels for different sized wires and cables
• Utilizes nameplate and wire marker schedule and blueprints to determine quantity, size, and wording of plates and markers to be created
• Inputs required information into machine software for each nameplate or wire marker
• Installs name plates and wire markers onto all manufacturing projects
• Follows up with purchasing department and vendors to get timely updates on orders for materials, as needed
• Maintains a clean and safe work area
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years’ experience in a related field
• Ability to safely and effectively operate or learn to operate the nameplate and wire marker machine controls
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow product plans including nameplate schedule, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic understanding of using a computer and data entry skills
• Basic understanding of tools (e.g., tape measure, impact drill, etc.)

Physical Requirements

• Periods of standing, walking, and sitting at a desk using machinery
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
• Must wear PPE, such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, and ear protection, while working on the production floor
