Position Summary
Marmon Utility is hiring a Machine Operator to set up, operate, and monitor wire drawing, wire stranding, and extrusion equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining production, quality, and safety standards while minimizing downtime and waste.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspections to ensure product quality and workplace safety
- Operate production equipment according to established procedures and work instructions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Ability to safely handle reels, spools, hand tools, and measuring equipment
Qualifications
- No prior machine operation experience required - we provide paid on-the-job training for all new employees
- Candidates with experience as a Machine Operator, Extrusion Operator, Production Operator, Manufacturing Operator, or Equipment Operator are encouraged to apply (higher pay dependent on experience)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers
- Basic math skills required
- High School Diploma or GED
Safety & Physical Requirements
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
- Work safely around manufacturing equipment and moving machinery
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Pay & Schedule
- Earn up to $39.56/hour | $81,120 annualized
- Choose from 3- or 4-day workweeks with built-in overtime opportunities
- Crew 1 - Days: $28.17/hour minimum | $70,304 minimum annual earnings | Monday-Thursday, 7:00am - 7:00pm (includes 8 hours of guaranteed weekly overtime)
- Crew 2 - Nights: $32.50/hour minimum | $81,120 minimum annual earnings | Monday-Thursday, 7:00pm - 7:00am (includes 8 hours of guaranteed weekly overtime & shift differential)
- Weekend Day Crew: $37.56/hour minimum | $70,304 minimum annual earnings | Friday-Sunday, 7:00am - 7:00pm (work only 36 hours per week and earn full-time pay)
- Weekend Night Crew: $39.56/hour minimum | $74,048 minimum annual earnings | Friday-Sunday, 7:00pm - 7:00am (work only 36 hours per week and earn full-time pay, includes shift differential)
- Higher pay available based on experience
