About the role
As a Level II Machine Operator, you'll produce fluid-system components that meet the highest quality standards. This role is ideal for an entry-level machinist eager to learn, work independently, maintain high production standards, and prioritize safety. You’ll receive all necessary tools and gauges, and work in a clean, modern, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Follow Swagelok’s production system, including daily shift start-up meetings and shift handoff reports.
- Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment according to standard work instructions.
- Follow quality plans and inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, comparators, ring gauges, dial indicators, smart gauges).
- Monitor machine outputs and identify quality, machining, tooling, or process issues; escalate to support associates to resume production.
- Complete preventative maintenance and routine machine care.
- Document production activities accurately and maintain manufacturing records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic math skills, including adding and subtracting fractions and decimals.
- Self-motivated with an ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Machining experience or mechanical background.
- Experience in a manufacturing production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work overtime hours as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping.
- Lifting materials weighing 25–35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Working safely around manufacturing equipment.
- Passing required vision acuity testing, where applicable.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $18.40–$25.80 per hour, with additional compensation through overtime and a 10% shift differential for off-shifts. Starting pay is based on skills, experience, and qualifications. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is payable after 30 days of employment, subject to applicable taxes and withholdings.
