Machine Operator II - Sheetmetal

About the role

Dover Food Retail (DFR) is seeking a Machine Operator II - Sheetmetal to join our team. This role operates machinery to cut, bend, and straighten metal parts, ensuring quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Operate all equipment in the sheet metal department, including brake presses, lasers, punch presses, sanders, and deburring machines
• Fill all part requirements to complete rounds for the kitting department
• Read rulers, tape measurers, metal squares, angle finders, protractors, and other measuring instruments
• Read and follow written and verbal instructions
• Perform appropriate preventative maintenance on equipment and tooling
• Examine finished work pieces for smoothness, shape, angle, or conformity to specifications and verify dimensions
• Work at different workstations as production needs require
• Maintain the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
• Use proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation on individual’s product line or work cell
• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

• Occasionally – Stooping/Twisting, Kneeling, Squatting, Visual Acuity (Near/Far), Keyboarding, Pinching, and Lift/Carry up to 50lbs alone and 75lbs assisted
• Frequently – Walking, Pushing/Pulling, Reaching, Gripping, Foot Use, and Lift/Carry up to 25lbs
• Constantly – Standing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication or related field
• Proficiency with hand tools and measuring instruments
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic drawings
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Good physical condition to perform the job duties
