Responsibilities
- Routing material to specific departments for manufacturing
- Set up and operate equipment used to cut/grind/polish scientific glass
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications that are written in English
- Use a variety of measuring instruments to ensure parts meet quality levels
- Execute sustained production in the grinding department
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Must observe all precautions, rules and regulations related to environmental, health and safety matters (i.e. PPE, properly depositing of waste)
- Use a variety of measuring instruments such as calipers to ensure parts meet quality levels for size and finish
- Absorb and follow Bills of Materials and process routers
- Assist on special projects as required
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Prior experience with glass handling or machining a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints
- Basic math and measuring skills.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in English reading and communication.
- Computer literacy; ability to use company-specific systems.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
