Machine Operator- Flower Pack

About the Role

A Machine Operator sets up, safely operates, and performs basic maintenance on a variety of automated and semi-automated machinery to produce high-quality cannabis products. You will ensure all products meet company standards for formulas, visual appearance, and packaging, inspect and prepare equipment, and adjust machinery for optimal speed while maintaining safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Safety:
  • Follow all department-specific safety practices, including the use of PPE.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the designated work area, supporting all 5S requirements.
  • Remain compliant with all safety training requirements.
  • Promptly report safety concerns, including near-miss situations.
• Production:
  • Perform equipment inspections, calibrations, and line centering to ensure successful operation.
  • Increase operational efficiency and reduce waste through ownership, teamwork, communication, and collaboration.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity standards.
  • Follow SOPs and work instructions to complete tasks according to company standards.
  • Work quickly and efficiently while striving to increase productivity.
  • Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of all equipment.
  • Participate in trial runs, new product development projects, and training of other employees.
  • Work in a team environment and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
• Quality & Compliance:
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to improve and promote quality.
  • Perform in-process and post-process quality assurance testing and visual inspections to ensure products meet or exceed specifications and customer expectations.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with proper weighing, data recording, product tracking, and security awareness at all times.
• Teamwork:
  • Participate in daily communication meetings.
  • Escalate issues to leads, managers, or HR as appropriate.
  • Create a positive working environment.
  • Identify and escalate areas for process improvement.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by a manager or lead.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; associate degree or certifications preferred.
• Effective time-management skills and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work well with others while completing individually assigned tasks.
• Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and lift equipment or plants up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
• Must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
• Ability to work at heights.
• Prior experience running automated equipment.
• Basic math and mechanical skills.
• Curiosity to understand how equipment works to support troubleshooting or process improvements.
• Ability to follow state and company compliance requirements.
• Excellent customer service, time management, and organization skills.
• Prior cannabis experience not required.
• Must pass all required background checks.
• Must remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
• Must be approved by the state badging agency to work in the cannabis industry.

Working Conditions

• Regularly perform reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods while maintaining focus.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds with extreme care and caution when working with product.
• Daily exposure to allergens such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil.

Pay

Green Thumb Pay Range: $20—$20 USD. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
