About the role

The Assembly Machine Operator is responsible for safely performing machine setups and operating resistance welders, MIG welders, assembly equipment, and automated production lines. You will control and adjust machine functions and settings to ensure products meet quality standards for assembly specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate resistance welders, MIG welders, assembly, and automated equipment
  • Perform machine setups as needed based on production schedule demands
  • Troubleshoot machines and adjust functions and settings
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure parts meet guidelines
  • Test machine operation periodically to guarantee smooth running
  • Perform preventative and regular maintenance on equipment to extend operational life
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety, complying with OSHA and MDSD Standards
  • Participate in 5S activities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior welding or assembly experience desired; metal stampings preferred
  • Working knowledge of resistance and MIG welders
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desired
  • Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent attendance and willingness to work overtime
